Located in a century-old building within Beijing’s Qianmen Hutong, this compact two-story structure spans only 80 square meters yet accommodates multiple functions, including exhibitions, workshops, classes, events, and retail. The first floor serves as a versatile multifunctional space, with walls and floors optimized for display purposes. An independent staircase leads directly to the second floor, ensuring functional separation between levels. Respecting the original architectural structure, artworks are suspended using wire, preserving the building’s authentic state while seamlessly integrating new and old elements.
